I would like to rent a small apt for one person in Trastevere area for the full month of February (low season). Any recommendations or experiences. There are thousands of apartments, and it is difficult to judge quality and/or neighborhood just from a few small pictures. Any advice would be appreciated.

Firstly i just need to reply to the above message - you have just visited one of the most amazing cities in the world and all you have commented on is the ice-cream and recommend bringing hand wipes!
Rome is spectaular with so many amazing sights and I would highly recommend that it is a city that everyone should visit if possible. I visited in April for 3 days and it really wasn’t long enough to fit everything in as there really is so much to see. The Vatican City in itself warrants at least a day and would recommend getting there early to beat the crowds especially if visiting the museumn and the sistine chapel as the queue can go for miles.

I just absolutely love gelato. Rome is great because you can get it on just about every street corner (and if not, then you’re not on the right corner). It gets really hot in Rome during summer. I have this memory of listening to a tour guide in the Roman Forum in the hot sun with melting gelato running down my hand. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it hadn’t been my absolute favorite flavor - straticella… anyway, my point is that when you go to Rome, bring hand wipes or napkins or something. That tour didn’t end for an hour and I was all sticky until we could get to a restaurant.
